This week’s Success Series interview is with Erin, a six-figure earner and absolute sunbeam of a leader within the Breakaway Movement community.

After working in various job roles, Erin realised that she was meant for something more within the health and wellness space. Which led her to marketing Kangen water machines online and being able to positively impact thousands of peoples lives. With zero experience working online, Erin has been able to make six figures in her first year of business and has lived multiple versions of her ‘dream day’.

In this interview, Erin shares how online marketing has allowed her to create a fulfilled life of freedom and guidance. and live out each day the way she wants to. She also shares her top tips for people starting up in online marketing with Kangen and why curiosity, action, and consistency are the keys to success.

FIRSTLY, WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO?

My name is Erin and I’m a full time Kangen water distributor. Previously, I’ve modelled, worked in a law office, a juice bar, a vegan restaurant, a health food store, and even started a raw vegan dessert business. All of those ventures allowed me to realise that I was meant for something else in the health and wellness realm.

Another huge part of my journey was leaving college at age 19, moving to NYC, and then moving to an island with no plan but an Airbnb booked for a week. I have always been super independent, but at the same time I was sheltered. Moving to an island with no plan really opened my eyes to what it meant to stick up for myself, to become more street smart, and to crystallise the things in life that were truly important to me.

I got to start fresh. No past relationships. No past environments. A clear mind ready to build from scratch. Which is exactly what I did. I found my dream job, dream neighbourhood, and dream community, all by getting clear on what I wanted and then taking massive aligned action.

WHAT IS YOUR WHY? (WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?)

Change peoples lives or die. That’s my why. It may seem extreme but I’m an extreme person.

Health and wellness should be everyones top priority. In body and mind. Being a Kangen water distributor has allowed me to watch so many people transform their health before my eyes. The fulfilment I have gotten from this quickly transformed into my why.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

A typical day in my life changes a bit given the season. Currently it looks like waking up around 3:30-4:30am, spending some time with my thoughts, going outside for a run or a bike ride or a swim, jumping into cold fresh water, making breakfast, reading over my ‘get to do’ list, and then hopping over to the beach with a smoothie to start work around 8:30am.

I’ll work for couple hours and then if it’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday I’ll head to my favourite coffee shop and work for another couple hours there. If it’s Monday, Wednesday, or Friday then I’ll work at home for another couple hours before heading to the beach again to listen to a podcast or audio book.

I usually stop working around 4-5pm.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ONLINE MARKETING?

I chose online marketing because I had tried what seemed to be everything else.

I had zero experience working online but I saw the product I’d be selling and the compensation plan and my intuition knew I had to try.

If it were any other product I probably wouldn’t have done it.

IF YOU HAD ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WAS INTERESTED IN STARTING UP, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

The day you get your machine is not the day you start your business. Take time. Drink the water. Explore the other 67 uses.

Get clear on your brand and vision. Get clear on who you want to work with. Get clear on your why.

Research the water. Research the compensation plan. Become a sponge. Learn and then share.

WHAT HAS ONLINE MARKETING ALLOWED YOU TO DO?

Online marketing has allowed me to create a fulfilled life of freedom and guidance. I get to live out each day the way I want to.

Yes, I’ve lived multiple versions of my dream day and been able to make six figures in my first year of business, but more importantly I get to watch thousands of peoples lives positively transform. People from all over the world.

That’s an impact I haven’t been able to create with any other job I’ve had. At least not to the extent I’ve created with this opportunity.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE ADVERSITY AND DOUBT?

Remind myself of my why. Spend time in nature. Breathe. Then create an action plan to conquer those doubts with unwavering confidence. Haha, if only it were that easy. Honestly, those things help but they aren’t a cure all.

Time and repetition are the two biggest things that help me in times of doubt and adversity. Try. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE TOP 3 SKILLS YOU NEED TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL?

You need more than 3 skills. It’s a combination of everything!

But if I were to choose 3 that were most important I would say: curiosity, action, and consistency.

  1. Curiosity to create new ways of living your life and running your business.
  2. Action to implement the curiosity you’ve sparked.
  3. Consistency to relentlessly pursue your why with unwavering self confidence.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Stop hiding. Making mistakes is the only way to learn so embrace them and move on.
