FIRSTLY, WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO?
Hey! I’m Agathe (pronounced ‘a cat’ but with a g), I’m 22 years old, half French and half British and I’m a full-time Kangen Water Distributor!
I have always been a dreamer, a freedom seeker, passionate about wellbeing, creativity and freedom. I grew up following the rules but very quickly found meaning and empowerment in challenging what society expected from me. For a long time, I felt unsure about what my purpose was or rather how I could be my authentic self in a world that numbs crucial parts of yourself.
A few years ago, I experienced a health scare and was diagnosed with a chronic gut disease. Health has always been one of my deepest passions and I immediately decided to heal naturally with food, lifestyle and mindset work. This healing journey was the catalyst to so many positive shifts in my life. Being able to reverse my disease opened my eyes to my potential as a cosmic being on this Earth - literally. It proved to me that I can be, do, have whatever sets my soul on fire. After that, the idea of living a life of freedom, prosperity, health, kindness and community felt so achievable to me.
Before I knew it, Enagic fell into my lap and ticked so many boxes for me. The idea that I could make a living by prioritising my physical and mental health, have freedom to be and do what feels right, work with inspiring people that push me to be my best self and improve others’ wellbeing and ability to find freedom in their life… What? Yes please!
I’ve been on this entrepreneurial journey for over a year now and it has opened many doors for me. It’s very exciting.
WHAT IS YOUR WHY? (WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?)
To me, it’s helping people free themselves from their self-limiting beliefs. It’s showing people that a lifestyle of freedom, health and prosperity is available for everyone. It’s being part of a movement that helps humans reconnect with their creativity, with their nature, with their higher self. I desire to inspire people to heal themselves and take authority over their life.
Another important thing to me is being able to prioritise my mental and physical health in my daily life. Being told what to do, working dangerous hours, sacrificing our time and body for money, neglecting our passions, is something all too common in today’s world. I want to awaken people to what’s possible and be a living example of it.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
The beauty of my job is that I get to decide what my days look like! I love routine and structure but I thrive on fluidity. So my days tend to look different every day. There are a few rituals I accomplish everyday.
I tend to wake up between 8am and 9am on a normal day. Lately, I’ve felt pulled towards waking up earlier - it’s not something I’m used to but I’m excited for the challenge. I will either meditate, stretch or dance to wake myself up and cater to the emotions I feel.
At the moment I live in Lisbon and it’s blissful. The city is full of farmers’ markets with incredible vibrant fruits and vegetables that I stock up on everyday. Breakfast is always melon and lime. It’s just the perfect combo to hydrate and energise me for the day ahead.
My neighbourhood is full of coffee shops, ideal for spending a few hours working on my laptop and sipping on some orange juice or mint tea with my friends. I try to get as much done in the morning so that I can enjoy the afternoon in nature, at the beach or catching up with friends. My favourite time of the day is sunset. I either go for a walk along the Tejo river, go to a viewpoint to admire the beautiful colours of Lisbon or sit on the beach with a picnic and great company!
Before I go to bed, it’s important for me to take some time to reflect on how I’m feeling. Ever since overcoming my chronic illness I find it so important to tune into my emotions and release whatever I’m holding onto. Journaling is amazing for this, light dancing, yoga and reading a nourishing book are examples of what my night routine consists of. If I’m feeling businessy, I’ll take that time to post a story and answer dms. Some nights I like to give entrepreneurship and self-development a break and watch Netflix or hop on the phone with a friend.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ONLINE MARKETING?
I feel many people will resonate with me saying that I did not choose online marketing. I just really wanted to distance myself from a traditional career path or a 9-5 job. It never felt like it was my path.
Maybe one day it will, there are beautiful industries to work in out there. But in this phase of my life, I crave freedom and flexibility. I crave a system that allows me to channel my creativity, that connects me to inspiring humans, that pushes me to grow and learn more about myself everyday and that lets me design my days.
Online marketing ended up being the vehicle for the life I desire for myself. In online marketing it is so important to believe in what you promote. Working with water aligns so much with my values and passions as a health conscious individual.
IF YOU HAD ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WAS INTERESTED IN STARTING UP, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Choose YOU. It’s not selfish to follow your dreams. The more you focus on being your best self, on catering to your needs, and on achieving your goals, the better equipped you will be to show up for others and to make a lasting and meaningful impact on our beautiful planet.
You know best what YOU want to do, how you matter and what sets your soul on fire. Choose you to inspire others to choose themselves.
I see so many people live for others - whether it’s because of fear of judgement or feelings of obligation - but they end up building resentment, burn out and/or miss out on so many incredible opportunities that could change their lives, but also the lives of the people they love.
You will always be judged for choosing yourself and it will not always be comfortable, but people judge anyway. The question is, are other people’s judgements important enough to stop you from reaching your full potential and actually following your dreams?
WHAT HAS ONLINE MARKETING ALLOWED YOU TO DO?
Ever since putting myself out there on social media I’ve been able to connect with incredible people and build some of the most life-giving friendships. It’s crazy what sharing your authentic thoughts and channeling your creativity online can do. Connecting and meeting people from all over the world has really propelled me out of my little bubble. Humans are fascinating.
Now that I have been able to monetise my platform in a meaningful and fulfilling way - as a Kangen Distributor - I’ve been able to travel and live wherever I want. Living in Lisbon has always been my dream and working online has allowed me to accomplish that goal.
I knew nothing about online marketing but ever since delving into this world I’ve learnt so much about technology (haha) and I’m a much more confident communicator. It’s also allowed me to explore my creativity and creating content on my terms has been amazing for my soul.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE ADVERSITY AND DOUBT?
I think it’s important to understand that you will always face adversity and doubt. They are inevitable components of any self-development journey.
For me, I try to use it as an experience to learn more about myself. Often, if not always, they are a projection of my insecurities. I try my best to take a step back and reflect on what is important and valuable to me. I also try to understand ways in which I can work on myself, strengthen my self-belief, and build my bank of knowledge, so that I no longer attract this particular issue.
Questions I like to ask myself are:
- Is this worth my time?
- What is this experience teaching me?
- How can I learn more to become more confident in myself and what I do?
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE TOP 3 SKILLS YOU NEED TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL?
- Be resourceful. This is a big one. Know where to find the answers you seek. Build a bank of knowledge about entrepreneurship, business and Kangen water. Not only will it build your confidence but it will help you embody your role as a leader. Leaders don’t depend on other people but rather know their stuff, know their people, and know where the information is. Personally, I think resourceful entrepreneurs attract more success because people trust those who are experts in what they're doing.
- Be consistent. You’ve heard it before, “practice makes perfect”. Many new entrepreneurs have a hard time staying consistent and I think it’s because a lot of us are perfectionists. So much so, that it makes us FREEZE. I’ve learnt that taking messy action is the best thing you could do. Don’t overthink it, just post it. Put yourself out there, have fun with it. Taking action gives you experience and feedback on how you can do better each time.
- Be clear on where you are now and where you’re going. Think of yourself as a GPS. If you don’t know where you are right now and what your destination is, then you’ll be driving around in emptiness for a looong time. Take some time to figure out what you want to offer, what skills you have, what your message is, how best you can serve and who you want to impact.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
Everything that happens to you is for your highest good and highest learning. Everything happens in divine timing. All you have to do is enjoy and make the most out of this moment. Even the darkest times are filled with so many lessons and peace.
WHAT WAS THE LAST GIFT YOU GAVE TO SOMEONE?
Flying my best friend to Portugal, so that she could come see me for a few days and enjoy the sunshine. My friends are a huge part of my why.
IF YOU WERE TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD YOU NAME IT?
This is such a hard one!!
When I was young, my friends would sometimes call me “Agathe this”. I think it’s quite hilarious and nicely represents my journey this far. It’s better than “Agathe a feeling” haha. But in all seriousness, I would call it “The Journey of a Freedom-Seeker”. Argh I dunno!
Now, who’s ready to just start, take a leap and take inspired action TODAY towards living a life of freedom, prosperity and health?
Disclaimer: You’ll never feel ‘ready’. So, it’s time to invest in yourself and take advantage of what online marketing will allow you to do, create and achieve!
